The last few weeks we have been so excited because we had just gotten the Diamond Card for all of the Caesar's properties! This should have been an exciting time but came to an abrupt end the moment we were at the check in desk of the Caesar's in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
We were informed that any and all guests staying for more than 24 hours will be obligated to a mandatory room search. This would be done within the time frame you are staying whether you are in your room or not. At first, I shrugged the idea off thinking I have nothing to hide. Fine whatever come check my room!
Then as we made our way to our room in the Ocean Tower, opened the door and we immediately saw a distasteful experience ahead. Mind you we have a higher card and it should always account for something. Well, that's not the case here! The bed was sunken in and looked well used, our view consisted of the back end of a roof and a disgusting dirty window. Seriously it looked as if it was never, ever cleaned. I did not have time to look around for more faults as we called the front desk immediately. We were then told that the Centurion Tower is the most preferred and was redirected to a new room. I'm sorry but shouldn't a higher card have the "preferred" ANYTHING the first time around?
After getting settled in to our second room of the night we really contemplated on leaving. We looked up this new policy and had a long discussion about it and its guidelines. There were several key factors that we do not agree with and believe it to be a violation of their guests privacy. Imagine you are in your room taking a shower... or other... and they just so happen to walk in. Yes, they are entitled to do so based on this new policy, isn't that just crazy!
Today, our second day, I have actually seen them go door to door. So, yes they do actually enforce this new policy! Based on all my travel experiences I have never had to deal with something this ubiquitous! I highly disagree and I do not see anyone returning after staying their first time. Upon booking our room there was no mention of the policy during the phone call because if there was we wouldn't have stayed here!
My family's privacy should not be extorted in such a manner and neither should yours! What are your thoughts on someone just walking into your room unannounced whether you are there or not?
