We had so much fun at Sahara Sam’s Indoor/ Outdoor Waterpark and I know your family will too!
Sahara Sam’s is a great place to take the kids and what I love about it is the fact that its open all year round. Sahara Sam’s is an indoor/ outdoor waterpark located in Berlin, New Jersey. It has a fantastic kids area, lazy river, waterslides and pools all located inside. Unfortunately the outside was not open during our visit but they are working diligently, hopefully having it open for memorial day weekend. Just in time for summer fun!
We have been to a few waterparks but not many with our daughter. Hailey is not too keen on having water splashed in her face but yet she loves to play in it. I know weird mix right! I thought since Sahara Sam’s was close and reasonably priced we would try it out, and might I say parenting win! It took about an hour for her to warm up but after that you would have thought she was a pro.
Starting out with a relaxed trip around the Congo Bongo lazy river then we ventured into the pool and the kiddy area. We had a little bit of a rough start with our kiddo but we encouraged her to be brave. For some reason she was more interested in Mt. Kilimanjaro, a large slide with a raft big enough for our small group fit on.
At the end of riding Mt. Kilimanjaro she was all in, well sort of. She started going down the kiddy slides all by herself. After a little bit she was having so much fun she completely forgot about the water splashing in her face.
There are a several slides bunched together, the Nile Mile, Mt. Kilimanjaro and Snake Eyes. We rode Mt. Kilimanjaro and Snake Eyes several times with her. Then there’s another bigger slide located off the pool room where you can have races down the slide. That was so much fun, My other half and I had so much fun seeing who won the race! Mt. Kilimanjaro, I think was her absolute favorite since we could all go on it together.
I like that Sahara Sam’s is open late so we can have a few hours of early summer fun after the school day. They are open different times during the week, make sure to check out their schedule for days and times open. I also liked the fact that they have lots of clean facilities including showers and changing rooms. They do have lockers available for rent if you choose to put your things in them. There is also several cabanas and chairs available to lounge and store your things at as well. Make sure to visit the café and bar for all you food and drink needs!
We had such a great time and hope to go back this summer to get the extended experience. They had a cool little arcade and prizes set up in the front. Plus, they have events for annual pass holders, special saving days throughout the season and the outdoors area looks fun so we must go back to see what its like!
Sahara Sam’s also offers party packages and I’m pretty sure we found our next birthday party spot!
